Major Roles & Responsibilities
Purpose: The Analytics Specialist supports the hospital’s participation in the ToRCH program by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting healthcare data to inform performance improvement, population health initiatives, and value-based care strategies.
This position works closely with the ToRCH team, Quality Improvement staff, clinical leaders, and operational departments to develop meaningful data insights, create dashboards, and support reporting requirements. The Analyst plays a key role in strengthening data integrity, improving data collection processes, and translating complex information into actionable insights that improve patient outcomes and operational performance.
Essential Duties
Data Analysis & Reporting
• Collect, organize, and analyze clinical, operational, and financial data from multiple systems including the Electronic Health Record (EHR), reporting platforms, and external data sources.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reports to monitor performance related to ToRCH initiatives, quality metrics, and population health outcomes.
• Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement through data analysis.
• Translate complex data into clear summaries and visualizations for leadership and operational teams.
ToRCH Program Support
• Collaborate with the ToRCH team to support program implementation, performance tracking, and reporting requirements.
• Assist with data submission and reporting requirements related to ToRCH initiatives and other rural health transformation programs.
• Monitor key performance indicators tied to ToRCH goals such as care management, value-based care metrics, and patient outcomes.
Quality Improvement & Process Improvement
• Partner with the Quality Improvement team to support data-driven improvement projects.
• Assist in identifying data gaps and opportunities to improve data collection, documentation, and reporting processes.
• Support evaluation of quality initiatives through data analysis and outcome tracking.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and assist with measurement of project outcomes.
Data Integrity & System Optimization
• Work with IT, clinical teams, and operational leaders to improve data accuracy, reliability, and accessibility.
• Validate data sources and ensure consistency across reporting systems.
• Assist with backend data extraction and reporting tools related to EHR and analytics platforms.
Collaboration & Communication
• Present data findings and reports to leadership, committees, and project teams.
• Collaborate with clinical, operational, and administrative departments to support data-informed decision making.
• Provide education and support to staff on interpretation and use of performance data.
Performs other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
Academic, Certifications, & Trade Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Public Health, Information Systems, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to bend, stoop, lift at least 50 pounds, and move intermittently throughout the workday including standing, walking, sitting, lifting, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, reaching
• Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
• May be required to lift equipment, supplies, etc.

This individual works well collaboratively and communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical staff. They demonstrate strong organizational skills, maintain a high level of accuracy, and are able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
An interest in healthcare data, quality improvement, and performance measurement is important, along with a willingness to learn and adapt as data systems and reporting needs evolve.
