Medical Records Director
Salem Memorial District Hospital is looking for a Medical Records Director to join our team. Responsible for successful maintenance of patient records and organizational and administrative operation of the Medical Records department. Oversight responsibility for operational aspects of department.
Job Requirements:
• Maintains a medical record system which assures complete, accurate and confidential records on all patients in the hospital.
• Maintains medical records in accordance with requirements of SMDH, federal requirements, CMS, and law.
• Ensures coding of all diagnosis/ procedures is in accordance with coding guidelines.
• Knowledgeable of all charting coding requirements.
• Ensures data quality and optimum reimbursement allowable under the federal and state payment.
• Prepares monthly reporting timely census, medical staff charts, HIDI
• HIPAA Officer
Bachelor of Science in HIM
Certification in HIPAA, RHIA and/or RHIT preferred.
Five (5) or more years' experience of medical records
Three (3) or more years' supervisory experience
